Who we are

A Thousand Ladders provides transitional employment for people experiencing homelessness. We’re a capacity boosting, decentralized employment program that combines skill building, service delivery and real work experience with the assistance of our nonprofit partners. We bring employment opportunities and community engagement to where people are actively experiencing homelessness, highlighting how helping others can be a meaningful path toward self-improvement.

Employment as a Service

Our unique employment as a service model focuses on technical training, soft skill building and community engagement. Our transitional employment model provides the necessary trainings and skill-building to create pathways into permanent employment. More than just a job, A Thousand Ladders creates a space for participants to learn and apply lessons for the benefit of themselves and the community.

Peer Support

In addition to creating jobs, A Thousand Ladders is providing homeless services in the form of workshops, support groups and volunteer opportunities. Our participants help facilitate these opportunities as a way of giving back, building on their communication skills and creating a sense of community.
